Νέοι Κύπριοι Καλλιτέχνες.....George Achilleos!!!!!!!!!!!

George Achilleos was born in 1979 in Larnaca, Cyprus.  He studied painting and theoretical studies in history of Art and Architecture, as well as educational psychology, at the Visual and Applied Arts department of the Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki, Greece.  He attended the 3^rd workshop, with M.  Theofylactopoulos and K.  Katzourakis as teachers.  He graduated with distinction. He also attended the Photography workshop of G.  Katsaggelos, and the Engraving workshop of X.Sachinis.

He presented one solo exhibition in November 2008 in Nicosia and has participated in several group exhibitions in Greece and Cyprus.

Since 2007 he lives and works in Larnaca.

Giorgos Achilleos is an artist that can be characterized as interchangeable while his personal style is due to the subjection and power of his work and not to the norm of repeated shapes. Using intense and cheerful colours that may refer one to multicoloured advertising, the work is seduced to unknown and chaotic situations. Unanticipated and multidimensional the artist moves from Pop Art to Expressionism, from collage to acrylic and on other occasions tries to wed the two forms of art and materials - with the fear of never reverting to safety and standardisation.
